Serious business

Cirencester (UK) 27 April 2013  -  When the Comstor executives and their team mates signed up for the Beat the Boss triathlon in March 2013, they probably had not expected this challenge to be very serious. However, with less than five months to go before they will attempt to beat the boss, the hopefuls now realize that this challenge is not going to be a walk in the park.

The teams’ competitiveness is one of the key factors for success. Not only do they want to beat Ironman Andreas Dohmen, their boss and challenger, they also want to sweep the board and beat their colleagues. In preparation of the event Thomas Schoon, GM of Comstor Germany, has signed up for the Berlin City Night, a 10 km night run to get some competition experience and to warm-up up for the triathlon challenge.

Others are inspired by the fitness aspect and use the challenge to get back in shape or lose some weight. Russell Blackburn has set himself a strict training scheme and has targeted the competition for improving his future fitness. Annemieke Pot has hired a personal trainer and finds herself four times a week in either the gym or the swimming pool.

So if you see a sweaty manager coming into the office in the morning, wearing a muddy cycling outfit or a pair of smelly trainers, do show your support and say some motivational words! Also show your support by sponsoring your favourite team to win.
